AIDS Coalition of Nova Scotia

AIDS Coalition of Nova Scotia is an amalgam of two organizations that date back to the early '80s. ACNS' mission, as a community based, non-profit organization is to empower persons living with and affected by HIV/AIDS and those at risk through health promotion and mutual support and to reduce the spread of HIV in Nova Scotia. We strive to offer innovative prevention programs, confidential support services to those living with as well as those at risk of HIV transmission. ACNS provides leadership on a range of program and policy issues throughout the Nova Scotia.

The Canadian AIDS Society

The Canadian AIDS Society registered as a charity since 1988, the Canadian AIDS Society (CAS) is a national coalition of over 125 community-based AIDS organizations across Canada. We are dedicated to strengthening the response to HIV/AIDS across all sectors of society, and to enriching the lives of people and communities living with HIV/AIDS.
We advocate on behalf of people and communities affected by HIV/AIDS, facilitate the development of programs, services and resources for our member groups, and provide a national framework for community-based participation in Canada's response to AIDS.
We seek to accomplish our mission by: promoting education and awareness, mobilizing communities, advocating at the federal public policy level, and providing information and resources.

AIDS Committee of Toronto

The AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) is a community-based charitable organization that provides support, HIV prevention and education services for people living in Toronto with HIV/AIDS and at risk of HIV infection. ACT provides free, confidential support and practical services to men, women, and youth with HIV/AIDS and also offers information and support to friends, partners, and families of people living with HIV/AIDS. ACT works with gay and bisexual men, youth, and women at increased risk for HIV infection, and it partners with Portuguese-speaking communities to develop and deliver HIV/AIDS prevention programs.

Nine Circles Community Health Centre

Nine Circles Community Health Centre is a community-based, multifaceted, primary health care centre that specializes in providing and promoting sexual and personal health including harm reduction to those living with, or affected by HIV, AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). Nine Circle’s works with the community (both Winnipeg and provincial) to provide coordinated medical and social supports for those living with HIV and has become a leader in providing programming relating to HIV education, prevention, advocacy, care, testing, treatment and support for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Nine Circles provides client centered care, strives to improve the quality of life for those living with and affected by HIV/AIDS, and works to reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with sexual health, resulting in the overall improved health of our community.

The Rainbow Resource Centre

The Rainbow Resource Centre is a non-profit, community-based charitable organization that serves as Manitoba’s central service agency, offering support, information, counselling, referrals, library services, and public awareness on issues related to sexual orientation, gender diversity, and anti-homophobia education. The Rainbow Resource Centre envisions and works toward an equal and diverse society, free of homophobia and discrimination, by encouraging visibility and fostering health and self-acceptance through education, support, resources, and outreach.

AIDS Calgary

Edmonton: HIV Network of Edmonton Society

HIV Edmonton provides education, support, harm reduction, and advocacy for individuals infected with and affected by HIV. Services include counselling and assistance to those infected with HIV or who know a person with HIV, as well as in-house and off-site educational programs. HIV Edmonton uses a population health approach and works within a harm reduction framework based on the belief that HIV is a symptom of greater social, health, economic, and political circumstances, and any intervention or support must take into consideration all aspects of the lives of the populations served.

Health Initiative for Men

Health Initiative for Men (HIM) is a new, community-based health promotion organization dedicated to strengthening the health and well-being of gay men. HIM develops and delivers a range of educational, support, and community development programs and activities that aim to enhance men’s health and that create opportunities for men to participate in community.

AIDS Vancouver

For the past 25 years, AIDS Vancouver has been at the forefront of community response to the epidemic here in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Over 25 paid staff and 200 volunteers strive to provide a comprehensive and integrated range of health promotion, education, and support services. AIDS Vancouver exists to alleviate individual and collective vulnerability to HIV and AIDS through support, public education and community-based research.
